Upward, Week 5!
Join us for another weekend of Upward Basketball THIS Saturday, February 10, at 9 a.m. 🏀 This week’s theme verse comes from 2 Corinthians 5:21:
For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
This week’s theme goes right along with that verse: “I can be forgiven for my sins through Jesus.” This verse from 2 Corinthians is, perhaps, my favorite verse in the entire Bible. It encapsulates the message of the gospel, condensing it to a mere twenty-four words. This is the best news of all — that even though he was perfectly and infinitely holy, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, assumed all of our wretchedness and sin, including the wrath that accompanied it so that he could give us his righteousness and raise us to new life in him. No one is excluded from this news. It is good news for the worst of us; for all of us. It is good news for you.
Here’s the list of this week’s games:
9 a.m. Panthers vs Leopards
10:15 a.m. Bears vs Falcons
11:20 a.m. Sooners vs Green Wave
12:25 p.m. Golden Flash vs Hoosiers
1:30 p.m. Warriors vs Mavericks
2:40 p.m. Bucks vs Heat
