Weekly Bulletin: 2023-07-26
“There was a rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and who feasted sumptuously every day. And at his gate was laid a poor man named Lazarus, covered with sores, who desired to be fed with what fell from the rich man’s table. Moreover, even the dogs came and licked his sores. The poor man died and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried, and in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side.” (Luke 16:19-23)
You are likely familiar with the story of the rich man and Lazarus. It’s a famous account of two men whose experiences in life couldn’t be more different — and the same goes for their experience of the afterlife, too. Jesus’s story is full of meaning and significance and truth for you and me. But oftentimes that meaning is often lost in the details.
Join us on Sunday, July 30 at 10 AM where, Lord willing, I will be diving into Luke 16 and the story of the rich man and Lazarus, as I hope to show you what this familiar story is really about — and it might not be what you think. Also, be sure to join us at 6 PM for another hymn-sing during our evening worship gathering! Be thinking of your favorite hymn and be ready to share a testimony or two as we fellowship with one another through worship and song.
I hope you’ll be in your spots this week. I can’t wait to worship with you all once again!
Blessings 🙏 Pastor Brad
