Weekly Bulletin: 2023-06-28
Blessed is the man
who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stands in the way of sinners,
nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
but his delight is in the law of the LORD,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
He is like a tree
planted by streams of water
that yields its fruit in its season,
and its leaf does not wither.
In all that he does, he prospers.
The wicked are not so,
but are like chaff that the wind drives away.
Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous;
for the LORD knows the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked will perish.
(Psalm 1:1–6)
This Psalm is not only the very first of all the Psalms in the Old Testament, it’s also one of the most foundational. Using the vivid imagery of a tree planted by the riverbank, the psalmist helps us to see what it looks like to feed off the righteousness of God, which is starkly contrasted by the way of the wicked. In this, we are given some of the most foundational wisdom for all of life.
Join us THIS Sunday, July 2, at 10 AM for another time of worship and fellowship around the Word of God. Gather with your church family as we rejoice in the Lord together not only through singing and preaching but also through partaking in communion together. May the Lord bless you and keep you by his grace for the rest of this week!
Blessings 🙏 Pastor Brad
