Weekly Bulletin: 2023-05-31
“Have you forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons? ’My son do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor be weary when reproved by him. For the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and chastises every son whom he receives.’ It is for discipline that you have to endure. God is treating you as sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline?” (Heb. 12:5–7).
These are probably some of the hardest verses to take to heart. Enduring the discipline of God is never an easy road. It often involved difficulty and adversity, which can very easily lead us to doubt or question what’s happening. But as the writer of Hebrews reminds us, it’s not out of vindictiveness that he disciplines us. Rather, it’s out of love.
Come and worship with us this Sunday, June 4, at 10 AM as I continue looking at the book of Hebrews to show how and why Jesus is better. Join your church family this week as we look to the Word and the God of it for hope and relief in times of discipline and difficulty. And don’t forget about our evening service at 6 PM where we’ll be looking at 1 John 4.
Blessings 🙏 Pastor Brad

Ladies, you’re invited to spend a weekend with your sisters in Christ at the official Stonington Baptist Ladies Retreat!
On September 22—24, the ladies will be enjoying a stay at the historic Mansion in the Pines in Myerstown, PA. A minimum of 10 ladies are needed to confirm this booking. The initial cost is $180 but that amount will decrease significantly the more that attend. Contact Natalie Gray to secure your spot.
We’re looking for a few couples and/or families to help us keep the church clean and tidy. If you can spare a few hours, sign-up on the form in the lobby to help clean the church on a weekly rotating schedule.
