Weekly Bulletin: 2023-01-18
“For you formed my inward parts;
you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works;
my soul knows it very well.
My frame was not hidden from you,
when I was being made in secret,
intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed substance;
in your book were written, every one of them,
the days that were formed for me,
when as yet there was none of them.”
(Ps. 139:13–16)
This Sunday is “Sanctity of Life Sunday”: a Lord’s Day where we set aside some time to remember the wonderful truth that life begins at conception and that every life is precious in the eyes of the Lord. The words of the psalmist in Psalm 139 are true of everyone. God knew you before you were even born. His eyes have seen even your “unformed substance.”
At Stonington, we are honored to support the ministries and efforts of the Corner of Hope Pregnancy Care Center in Shamokin. Be sure to join us THIS Sunday, Jan. 22, at 10am as we hear a special word from the Center and how we can continue to take part in their mission to fight for life.
We’ll also be hearing from a missionary family headed to South Africa, as Tom Depew and family share their heart to bring God’s good news around the world. Lord willing, I will be back in the pulpit during our 6pm evening service, as we turn our attention to the end of 1 John 2. I pray you’ll be in your places as we worship the Lord together this weekend!
Blessings 🙏 Pastor Brad
