News & Updates: Week of 2021-07-19
I left church yesterday evening feeling full in the Spirit. It was a full day, to be sure, but one that was brimming with gospel. I was thrilled to hear from Anna and Doug and the rest of the CEF team about how God is using them to reach the hearts and lives of kids across Pennsylvania with the gospel of Jesus Christ — the only gospel that saves!
It was rewarding, too, to preach during the evening service as we continued in our sermon series on Paul’s letter to the Philippians. If you haven’t joined us for an evening of worship, I strongly encourage you to make it out Sundays at 6pm. It’s such a wonderful time to open the Word and a great way to start the week.
I am praying for you, Church! May you be blessed, may you “be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.” (2 Tim. 2:1) God bless you 🙏
Pastor Brad
Worship with us this coming Sunday! We gather for worship around God’s Word and fellowship with God’s people every Sunday at 10am and 6pm. I pray you’ll be with us and join our growing church family!
Make sure to join us for Sunday school too!
We have Sunday school every Sunday at 9am, with classes specifically geared for adults, teens, and young children. I pray you’ll take advantage of these wonderful opportunities to grow in grace with your church family.
The adults are currently in a series called, “The Pursuit of Holiness.” Utilizing Jerry Bridges’ classic book (of the same name), Matt Kersey is leading this informative class on what it means, and what it looks like, to “follow hard after God.” (Ps. 63:8)
Children’s Church & Nursery are available during the morning service.
(Note: The Nursery is also available during the evening service.)

We also have some decorating needs as well.
20–30 plain green Christmas Trees

50 empty tissue boxes
If you can help by donating any of these items, please contact Gwennie Francis at (570) 648-1467.

There is a sign-up sheet in the church foyer for those who would like to bring a side dish. The main course will be provided.
After the meal, the pool will be opened and there will also be games available for all ages. I hope you’ll make plans to attend this special day with your church family!
Note: There will be no evening service that week.
Revival is coming! The Susquehanna Valley Tent Revival, organized by the Sunbury Community Prayer Room, is taking place August 19–21! You won’t want to miss this exciting weekend of singing, praying, and experiencing the words of Jesus as we seek to reach the valley with the gospel.
The meetings will take place at 249 Memorial Drive in Sunbury, located near the Sunbury Community Pool. On Thursday and Friday, the meetings start at 7pm. On Saturday, there is a youth event from 1–5pm, followed by the final night of worship at 6pm. Pastor Brad will be preaching during the Friday night meeting.
