A Note From Pastor Brad
Dear Church,
I pray that you’ve been encouraged this week by what God’s doing in and through you. I admit that, at times, sensing the work of the Spirit is difficult. It can feel confusing and, perhaps, frustrating because it might appear as though God’s not working at all. At least, not at the rate that we’d like him to. But that’s the thing: God’s much more patient than we give him credit for, especially with people who keep stumbling and bumbling in sin and failure.
If there’s one thing that I’ve been enriched by throughout my studies on the books of 1 and 2 Kings, it’s been that: God’s patience. The long and storied history of God’s people is fraught with example after example of those same people putting God to the test, trying his patience. And yet, even after all those moments of rebellion and refusal to hear or heed God’s Word, he is still patient with them. He still longs for them to return to him and fall into his loving arms.
This week, Lord willing, we’ll see a number of lessons on the patience of the King of kings from 2 Kings 17, which is where I’ll be preaching from on Sunday morning. As the history of Israel comes to a dismal close, what are we to glean? Much, but especially, the pervading patience of the Heavenly Father. In the evening service, I’ll be speaking from Psalm 20, another psalm of David that has much for you and I to take to heart.
God bless you church! See you Sunday!
Blessings 🙏 Pastor Brad
